Jason Robert Brown
directed by Jacki Booth
June 28-July 1, 5-8, and 12-15, 2007

Music Direction by Chiaki Ito.

A contemporary song-cycle musical by Jason Robert Brown that ingeniously chronicles the five year life of a marriage, from meeting to break-up... or from break-up to meeting, depending on how you look at it. Written by Jason Robert Brown (Parade, Songs For A New World), The Last Five Years is an intensely personal look at the relationship between a writer and an actress told from both points of view. Musicals about relationships are nothing new, but The Last Five Years manages to reinvent the familiar formula and offers up one of the brightest, freshest scores of the new century.

Adapted by Phyllis Nagy, from the novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne
October 4-7, 11-14, and 18-21, 2007

This brilliant, unusual adaptation by Phyllis Nagy of the classic novel has a decidedly contemporary slant. Although set in Puritan times, it deals with issues which make it almost a feminist deconstruction of the novel even as it preserves the familiar story of Hester Prynne, Roger Chillingworth and Arthur Dimmesdale. The play was originally presented Off Broadway by Classic Stage Company.
