Puppy Tales

Plays must be unpublished, original works written by youth ages 12-18 as of April 6th, 2024.

Monologues can be up to 7 minutes.

Plays can be up to 20 minutes in length with 4 or less actors, but can contain more characters that can be played by the same actors. Typically, one page equals 1 to 2 minutes.

Each author can only submit one play or monologue and must follow submission guidelines.

Deadline for submissions is April 17th, 2024.

Winners will have their play or monologue produced by Big Dawg Productions and will be showcased at Thalian Hall’s Ruth and Becky Stein Theatre for at least 2 performances during the Youth Play Festival May 23-May 26 and May 30-June 2. Winners will also be paired with an experienced director to aid them in the production process. There will also be free workshops and seminars available to winners both before and during the festival. Winners need not be present at the shows to win.
